The MBA programme of IIT Madras is offered by its DOMS Department. Other than the MBA programme, DOMS offers EMBA and PGPEX-VLM courses along-with Ph.D. programs in various disciplines at the Doctorate level.
The MBA admission process at IIT Madras goes through 2 stages that include shortlisting of candidates on the basis of CAT Score and conducting group task & personal interview. Thereafter, candidates are offered admission to MBA programme on the basis of their overall performance in CAT, Group Task and Personal Interview.

It’s a 2 year full-time residential program which includes specializations in Human Resource Management & OB, Information Systems, Integrative Management, Marketing, Operations and Finance. In addition, the popular programmes offered by IIT Madras are EMBA and PGPEX-VLM.
DOMS, IIT Madras: Programme-wise Eligibility Criteria
MBA Programme – Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in any discipline with at-least 60% marks (For SC/ST/PD 55%). Final year students are also eligible to apply wherein their admission will be provisional until they submit the required documents at the time of admission.
EMBA Programme - Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in any discipline with at-least 60% marks (For SC/ST/PD 55%). In addition, they must have 3 years of work experience.
DOMS, IIT Madras: Admission Process
First of all, MBA candidates are shortlisted on the basis of CAT Score. The CAT Cutoff is set by the exam authority of IIT Madras. Several other factors such as Work Experience, Past Academic Performance, Diversity, and Gender are also taken into consideration. Then the entire composite score is calculated and based on that candidates are shortlisted for the second round. In the second round, candidates are called for Group Task, Written Ability Test and Personal Interview.

DOMS, IIT Madras: Admission Shortlisting Criteria
The admission shortlisting process is divided into 2 stages. At first, the applicants are shortlisted on the basis of CAT Score and selected on the basis of total composite score that includes CAT score along-with past academic performance, industry experience, and gender.
Candidates from all categories shortlisted on the basis of composite score are called for personal interview.
The process of interview lays strong emphasis on analytical ability, ability to work in groups, communication skills and leadership potential.
Final Admission Selection Criteria
Final selection is based on the overall performance of candidates in CAT including Academic performance, work experience and diversity, and Personal Interview. Finally, after calculating the overall score of candidates, the final merit list is prepared.
