Applications are invited from UNMARRIED male and female candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Technical/ Executive Branches of the Indian Navy under University Entry Scheme for course commencing in July 2012.

Educational Qualification
Applicant should be studying in a recognised university with one of the disciplines mentioned below and should have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate marks till pre- final year (upto VI semester)

Physical Standards
The candidates must be physically fit according to following physical standards:-
- Height and Weight- Minimum height – 157 cms for men and 152 cms for women with correlated weight.
- Eye Sight
(i) Technical Branch- 6/24, 6/24 correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses.
(ii) General Service (Executive) - 6/12, 6/12 correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses. The candidates should not be colour/night blind.
Age limit: 19 to 24 years (ie born between 2 July 1988 and 1 July 1993, (both dates inclusive)
Selection Procedure
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Campus Interview, at their own expense, at centres as notified by IHQ-MoD (Navy)/ Command Headquarters. The screening will be conducted by a Naval Selection Team, and candidates selected during campus interview will be called for SSB interview at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Coimbatore between December 2011 and Apr 2012.

- Officer Intelligence Rating Test (OIRT)
- Picture Perception and Discussion test (PPDT)
Note: - Candidate who fails to qualify in Stage I will be routed back home on the same day.

- Psychological testing
- Group Task
- Group Discussion
- Personal Interview
The duration of SSB (Service Selection Board) will be 5 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Special Medical Examination for approximate duration of 5 days at nearest military hospital.

Application must be sent in the format given in the website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in, otherwise it will be rejected. Although candidates may be eligible for more than one branch/ cadre yet they have to submit only one application and mentioned priority. If a candidate has submitted duplicate application or appears twice in campus interview, his/her candidature will be cancelled.
Application must be accompanied by attested copies of the following
(i) 10th standard certificate for verification of date of birth and other educational certificates.
(ii) Marks statement of I to VI semesters.
