Indian Ordnance Factory to Recruit 325 Semi-skilled Staff

Indian Ordnance Factory (IOF) under Ministry of Defence issued notification for recruitment of 325 Workmen in Semi-skilled Grade for Ordnance Factory Dumdum and Ordnance Factory Nalanda. Interested eligible candidates are can apply online till 21 November 2012. Separate Online Applications through SITE needs to be filled / deposited for applying in semiskilled grade for the two factories: Ordnance Factory Dumdum & Ordnance Factory Nalanda.

Age Limit:
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 32 years
Upper age limit relaxed by 3 years (maximum age -- 35 years) for OBC candidates and by 5 years (maximum age -- 37 years) for SC/ST candidates.

Educational Qualification: Matriculate with National Apprentice Certificate (NAC) /National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT.

Note: Against the vacancies for Ordnance Factory Dum Dum:
For Millwright: Candidates with NAC / NTC in the trade of ‘Mechanic Machine Tools Maintenance will be considered;
For Machinist, Examiner and Miller: Candidates having NAC / NTC in the trade of Machinist will be considered.  Preference in this respect will be obtained from the short listed candidates after declaration of written test results.

Against the vacancies for Ordnance Factory Nalandad:
For CPW: NAC / NTC in Trades of Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) will be considered;
For OMHE: NAC / NTC in Trades of Material Handling Equipment Mechanic cum Operator will be considered;
For Examiner: NAC / NTC in Trades of Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant), Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant), Chemical Laboratory Assistant will considered; There will be a common selection list for sub trades of Filling and Proof & Test. Preference in this respect will be obtained from the short listed candidates after declaration of written test results;
For the Trade of FITTER (Electronics & Instrument): NAC/NTC Trades of Electronic Mechanic, Mechanic Industrial Electronics, Instrument Mechanic, Advanced Mechanic Instruments, Instrument Mechanic (Chemical Plant) will be considered);
For Millwright: NAC/ NTC certificate in Mechanic Machine Tools Maintenance will be considered.

If candidates with NAC / NTC are not available then applicants with ITI or equivalent qualification will be considered.
Degree and Diploma in Engineering will not be accepted as qualification for Direct Recruitment to the posts .

Application Fee:
Candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs.50 in Any branch of SBI through a Bank Pay in slip, as per the directions given in the website.
[SC/ ST/ Women/ PWD/ EXSM candidates are exempted from payment of fee.]
[Separate fee has to be paid for applying to Ordnance Factory (OF) Dumdum and Ordnance Factory (OF) Nalanda.]

Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in Written Exam and Practical / Trade Test.

On the basis of candidates’ performance in the written examination, short-listed candidates will be called for practical / trade test. Practical / trade test will be of qualifying nature.

Final selection will be made strictly as per merit, on the basis of written examination subject to getting qualified in the practical examination.

How to Apply:
Interested eligible candidates can apply online through OFC’s official website http://www.ofb.gov.in till 21 November 2012. On successful submission of the online application, a Registration Slip with a Registration Number would be generated by the system.

Candidates who are required to pay the fee will have to take a print out of the Bank Pay in slip from the website and deposit the money in any SBI Bank Branch. They should then again Login to the Site, click on the Payment Details and enter the data / Re-print Slip Button.

Candidates are required to take a printout of this registration slip generated after filling in the payment details and send it to respective Post Bag (address given in the Link Site) along with Copy of Bank Pay in slip in Original so as to reach the concerned office on or before the last date for Receipt of Print out of Online Application.

Candidates should keep a copy of the Application printout and Fee Receipt for their record. They have to download Admission Card as per instructions provided in the website. They will be allowed / permitted to enter the Examination venue only with the proof of Admission Card along with a photo identity proof.
