Indira Gandhi Delhi Technological University for Women (IGDTUW) has announced for its Ph D admission process that will commence from 15 March 2014. For the first time, this year both Males and Females candidates will be able to apply for PhD programmes as well, besides the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
From the forthcoming academic session 2014, the university will also invite admission application for M. Tech and PhD programmes, through online Application mode.
From 2014 session, PhD programmes in various branches of engineering, science and technology have been introduced for both genders of students.
Furthermore, to Ph D Scholars, the university is also offering teaching-cum-research fellowship of Rs 20,000 per month for duration of 3 years along with Rs 20, 000 as annual contingency grant.
The online registration and submission of forms will begin from June, said Nupur Prakash, vice-chancellor, IGDTUW. The information brochure and application form can be obtained from March 15 at the all Delhi branches of Punjab and Sind Bank, by paying Rs 750.
500 admission seats will be filled for the following programmes —B. Tech in computer science and engineering (CSE); electronics and communication engineering (ECE); mechanical and automation engineering (ECE); information technology (IT); M. Tech programme in information security management; VLSI design, mobile and pervasive computing; robotics and automation ; M. Tech part-time programme in electronics and communication, MCA programme.
Admissions opened for PhD will be in the following research areas - Applied sciences and interdisciplinary areas like nanotechnology and environmental sciences; computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, information technology, mechanical and automation engineering, computer applications.
It will be the first time when a joint counselling session will be hold by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) and IGDTUW for the students who seek admission seat in the MCA programme. For the same the aspiring students will also have to appear in the Common Entrance Test (Code 105) conducted by GGSIPU to apply for admission to MCA programme.
To all UG and PG programmes only female candidates can apply. While for PhD programmes, males can also seek admission.
