Post the situation of unrest caused by the law students from the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University , the University has now decided to allow the students to take the exams who were disallowed to take the same due to shortage of attendance.
The students who demonstrated on 10 December 2012 continued with their wants till late 12 December 2012. The students had threatened to boycott the semester examinations and had also asked a ‘step down’ by the dean of the University.
As of now, the list of students detained from writing end-of term examination has been withdrawn.
The review committee which has been set up by the university to look into the matter suggested that because the university didn’t inform the students on the matter in advance they should be allowed to sit for their exams.
The university had disallowed sixty eight law students from writing their exams. And the exams have been rescheduled to 19 December 2012.
Apart from the attendance issues, the University has so far taken no step on the detention of the dean on any such corruption charges. To know where it all started, readers can CLICK HERE
