Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (llRS), Dehradun, a unit of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). invited applications for engagement of 2 Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) – one each for two different research projects. Interested candidates should apply online on or before 19 December 2014.

Vacancy details

I. Junior Research Fellow (JRF): 2 posts

Fellowship: Rs.18000 per month (for candidates with M.Tech. qualification)/ Rs.16000 per month (for candidates with other qualifications)

All JRFs will be paid contingent grant of Rs.3000 per annum

Age limit: 30 years

Project-wise vacancy details

1. Project: Optimizing parameters from multiple sensors for biomass estimation at ICES at Glass footprint using different regression algorithms

No of vacancy: one post of JRF

Qualification: M.Sc./ M.Tech. in Physics/ Remote Sensing/ Geo-informatics/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Forestry/ Ecology/ Environmental Sciences with Programming knowledge and RS& GIS data handling.

2. Project: "Remote Sensing, ground observations and integrated modeling based Early Warning System (EWS) for climatic extremes of North West Himalayan region

No of vacancy: one post of JRF

Qualifications: M.Tech. in Agriculture Engineering/ Civil Engineering/ Computer Sciences/ Electronics/ Remote Sensing/ Geo-matics Engineering or M. Sc. in Physics/ Mathematics/ Geo-informatics with at least two subjects from Hydrology/ Mathematics/ Physics at Graduation level

Candidates with PG Degree or Diploma in Water Resources/ Remote Sensing/ Geo-informatics with Hydrology as specialization would be preferred.

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidate will be done on the basis of their performance in the Interview.

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview.

Original certificate shall be produced at the time of interview for verification.

Interested and eligible candidate should apply online through IIRS, Dehradun website www.iirs.qov.in on or before 19 December 2014.

Scanned copies of photograph and of self attested copies of certificates/ mark-sheet should be uploaded with the application.
