National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management Notified for Admission 2014-15

    National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) invited applications for admission to B. Tech, M. Tech, and Ph. D programmes for the academic session 2014-15. Interested yet eligible candidates may apply online on or before 20 June 2014, but for Ph. D programme, students have to apply before 30 May 2014.

    Important Dates

    For Indian Nationals:

    • Opening date for online applications for B. Tech/M. Tech/Ph. D Programmes: 4 April 2014
    • Closing Date for online applications for B. Tech/M. Tech Programmes: 20 June 2014
    • Closing Date for online applications for Ph. D Programmes: 30 May 2014

    For Foreign Nationals:

    • Receipt of Application (C.V) and documents (By post or email): 15 May 2014
    • Issue of Provisional Admission Letter: 31 May 2014
    • Reporting for Admission: 25 July 2014
    • NIFTEM English Proficiency Test (NEPT): if required, to be notified later

    Programmes Detail

    UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME:

    Name of the Programme: B. Tech Degree in Food Technology and Management

    Duration: Four Year

    Number of Seats: 180

    Eligibility: Candidates who passed Class 12th Exam in 2012 or 2013; or appeared in Class 12th Exam, 2014 with Physics, Mathematics and one of the subjects from Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology and securing 50% marks in total including all subjects. Besides a candidate must be appearing in JEE (Main) - 2014.

    Selection Process: Based on JEE (Main) All India Open Rank.

    POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME:

    Name of the Programme: M. Tech. degree in 1. Food Supply Chain Management; 2. Food Safety and Quality Management; 3. Food Process Engineering and Management; 4. Food Plant Operations Management; and 5. Food Technology and Management

    Duration: Two Year

    Number of Seats: 18 in each M. Tech programme

    Eligibility: Four Years Bachelor’s Degree or Master's degree in relevant discipline with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

    Selection Process: Based on valid GATE score. The remaining seats, if any, will be filled in by non GATE candidates on the basis of an Entrance Test and Interview conducted by NIFTEM.

    Ph. D. PROGRAMME:

    Name of the Programme: Ph.D. programmes in following areas: 1. Agriculture and Environment Sciences; 2. Basic and Applied Sciences; 3. Food Engineering; 4. Food Business Management; 5. Food Science and Technology

    Number of seats: A total of 20 seats for Indian Nationals in five areas as above. In each department, 2 additional seats for candidates holding JRF/SRF/ Inspire fellowships and 2 other additional seats for candidates holding fellowship in internally or externally funded projects of NIFTEM have been created.

    Eligibility: Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 60% marks. Preference will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidates.

    Selection Process: Through Research Entrance Test to be organized by NIFTEM at NIFTEM campus, Kundli.

    How to Apply

    Interested candidates will apply online at www.niftem.ac.in, with effect from 04 April 2014. The application must also carry a non-refundable application fee, to be paid through DD or online through Debit and Credit card, of 250 (General/ OBC) and 125 (SC/ST).
