National Institute of Technology, Durgapur - JEE Main Cut-offs & Counseling

National Institute of Technology, Durgapur is also formerly known as Regional Engineering College, Durgapur (REC Durgapur). Its new name is National Institute of Technology, Durgapur (NIT Durgapur), also popularly called NIT- Durgapur. This NIT also holds prominence and is regarded as the Institute of country-wide importance, just like its peers. Established in the year 1960, the NIT, Durgapur has been named as NIT- Durgapur since 2003. The stature of national importance is imparted to this institute. This is perhaps, one of the oldest NITs in India, dating back to the 60s era.

NIT, Durgapur is a renowned name in the engineering colleges list. In the year 2015, in the overall ranking, it was placed at #14. It also has collaboration with some of the renowned international universities.

NIT- Durgapur holds an elite place in the list of colleges offering undergraduate courses through the JEE Main examination. Every year, this college publishes its cut off list and aspirants are admitted into their desired courses on the basis of their ranks. They do offer spot rounds in case, seats are left vacant. In this case, depending upon the results of JEE Main 2016 and the rank of candidates in the test, the engineering seats in the desired engineering course shall be offered.

What is NIT Durgapur 2016 Cutoff?

While most of you would be already aware of the fact that NIT admissions and selections are dependent upon the JEE Main Rank 2016. In order to secure a seat in NIT- Durgapur, one should qualify JEE (MAIN). The proportion of JEE (Main) examination is to XII Board Examination Result is 60:40. The admissions largely depend upon the rank that a student gets in JEE (MAIN) exam. The counseling board is entrusted the responsibility of setting the eligibility and selection criterion that depends upon two prime factors, viz. JEE Main Rank 2016 and JEE Main Score of candidates.

The NIT Durgapur 2016 Cut Off list shall contain the minimum marks required by the candidates to secure a position in the next stages of admission. After having attained the required marks, the candidates are required to move to the next stage, i.e., counseling and seat allotment in NIT Durgapur.
