NTPC recruitment 2017 for Engineering Executive Trainee post will begin on 10 January. The recruitment will be done on the basis of GATE 2017 score for a total of 120 vacancies. Online registration portal will be open till 31 January 2017.
National Thermal Power Corporation, NTPC, conducts recruitment examination every year for Engineering Executive Trainee post. Candidates are selected through GATE score. This year NTPC has announced of 120 vacancies in various disciplines of engineering.
Applications are sought from interested candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology/ AMIE with not less than 65% marks. Candidates should note that the marks of average of all the years will be taken into consideration irrespective of the weightage given to any particular year. Final year students are also eligible to apply, however they are required to score minimum 65% marks in their degree.
NTPC has set the upper age limit for aspirants to be 27 years as on the last date of online application.

Out of the total of 120 vacancies announced, 76 are reserved for general category.
50 vacancies are open in Mechanical discipline and 40 in electrical. Civil, electronics and instrumentation disciplines have 10 vacancies each.
Stepwise selection procedure for NTPC Recruitment 2017
Candidates have to appear for GATE 2017
On the basis of GATE 2017 score, NTPC will release the list of shortlisted candidates for Online Aptitude Test (qualifying in nature)
On the basis of performance in Online Aptitude Test, candidates will be shortlisted for GD & PI.
Final merit list will be prepared taking 85% of GATE 2017 marks, 5% of GD marks, 10% of interview marks.
What’s next after selection?
After being selected, candidates shall have to go through one year training at various places. The final place of posting will be decided after the completion of training.

Candidates have to apply online at ntpccareers.net for NTPC ET 2017. The registration number of GATE 2017 is essential to apply for NTPC recruitment. Candidates belonging to general/ OBC category are required to pay Rs 150 as registration fee. However no fees is required to SC/ ST/ PWD/ XSM category. Candidates can deposit the fee either through offline or online mode.
