Optional Subjects for Indian Forest Service Examination of UPSC

Find all the information about the optional subjects for Indian Forest Service Exam 2011 to be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission

Union Public Service Commission will conduct examination for various Forest Officer posts for the effective management of forests starting 9 July 2011. The optional subjects to be covered for the four papers are mentioned below. Each optional subject selected will have two papers:

i) Agriculture

ii) Agricultural Engineering

iii) Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science

iv) Botany

v)  Chemistry

vi) Chemical Engineering

vii) Civil Engineering

viii) Forestry

ix) Geology

x)  Mathematics

xi) Mechanical Engineering

xii) Physics

xiii) Statistics

xiv) Zoology

The candidates will not be allowed to select the following combination of subjects: -

i) Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering

ii) Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and

iii) Veterinary Science

iv) Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

v)  Mathematics and Statistics

vi) Of the Engineering subjects viz. Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering- not more than one subject
