Ordnance Factory Board, Ministry of Defence, Government of India issued notification for Induction of Trade Apprentices for Trade Apprenticeship training in Ordnance & Ordnance Equipment Factories for the year 2012-13. Interested candidates can apply online till 27 March 2013.

Post Name: Trade Apprentices
Age Limit (as on 1 October 2012): Between 14 years and 22 years
Upper age limit relax-able for SC/ST candidates by 5 years, for OBC candidates by 3 years; for ITI Candidates, upper age limit will be relaxed by the period of training already undergone as per the normal duration of NCVT/SCVT, in the relevant trade.
Educational Qualification:
For non-ITI applicants: Passed “Madhyamik” (Class X or equivalent)
For ITI applicants: Passed Trade test from a NCVT or SCVT recognized institute.
Stipend:
During the 1st year of training, Rs.1490 per month
During the 2nd year of training, Rs.1700 per month
During the 3rd year of training, Rs.1970 per month
During the 4th year of training, Rs. 2220 per month
No other allowances will be paid during the entire period of Apprenticeship training.
Selection Procedure: Selection will be done on the basis of candidate’s performance in the written Examination. The written Examination will be of 3 hours and have ‘Multiple choice Objective Type questions’. Candidates will be allowed to write the examination in any one of the following languages: Hindi / English / Telugu / Marathi / Tamil / Bengali / Oriya, as per the option made in the Application form.
For Non-ITI Candidates: The Paper will have questions on English, General Knowledge, Mathematics and Aptitude / Reasoning, as per Madhyamik Standard (Class X Standard) or equivalent.
For ITI Candidates: The Paper will be divided into 2 Parts.
Part A will have questions on English, General Knowledge, Mathematics and Aptitude / Reasoning – approximately 40% of the total number of questions.
Part B will have questions on the group of subject trades – approximately 60% of the total number of questions.
Candidates will be allowed to enter examination hall with original ADMIT CARD only. Eligible Applicants will be able to download their Admit Card by entering the unique Serial Number generated by the system while submitting the online Application Form.
Medical Examination will be conducted by respective Ordnance Factories (for the selected candidates only). Date, Time & Venue of Medical Examination will be communicated separately by the Factory concerned.
Final selection of candidates will be based on Factory-wise merit position, available vacancy, scrutiny of documents, clearing Police verification & Medical test.
Selected candidates (if minor) will have to execute a Contract, by his/her guardian.
Application Fees: Non-refundable application fee of Rs.30 has to be paid through Indian Postal Order issued in favor of ‘The Senior General Manager / General Manager’ of the respective Ordnance Factories, where the candidate has applied for.
Candidate should write in ink the serial no. of his/her application form at the back of IPO.
SC / ST / PH (PC) and female candidates are exempted from submission of fees.
How to Apply: Interested candidate should apply online through Ordnance Factory Board website till 27 March 2013.
On successful submission of the online application form, a unique Serial No. will be generated by the system. Candidates are advised to preserve this application serial no. carefully, as this will be required for downloading Admit Card.
Candidates are required to take a print out of the submitted online application form and send it to the respective Ordnance Factory, where the candidate has applied for, by Post in a close envelop super-scribed with “APPLICATION FOR TRADE APPRENTISHIP” along with the attested copy of the documents.
The Application must be addressed to ‘The Senior General Manager / General Manager’ of the respective Ordnance Factories, where the applicant intends to undergo the Trade Apprenticeship training and to appear in the competitive induction Examination.

NOTE:
The Apprentices will not be provided with quarters / hostel accommodation by the Ordnance Factories.
During training, the Apprentices are entitled for medical treatment from respective Ordnance Factory hospitals.
Merit List for all candidates will be published in the Ordnance Factory Board website. In the event of tie in total marks obtained by the candidates, following method will be followed to decide merit position:
For Non-ITI Candidates: by age seniority.
For ITI Candidates: Higher marks in Part-B. Age seniority (in case marks obtained in Part-B are also identical).
Trades of Non-ITI candidates will be allotted by the respective Ordnance Factories, on the basis of merit position of the candidates drawn through the written examination vis-à-vis available vacancies in various Trades available in the Factory.
