The Oxford University Society of India (OUSI) has arranged a range of competitions for Indian Law students by virtue of which meritorious ones can easily make their way to the respective University abroad. The winners of the competitions will be awarded fully paid scholarships to the Oxford University as well as would be given opportunity to get their research published in international journals.
The OUSI is an organization formed by the alumni of Oxford University in India.
The President of the Society, Mr. Abhishek V. Chhabra said that they are on the move to conduct a moot-court competition in which any law school can register. Till date, around 300 teams from more than 80 universities and colleges across the country have got them registered as participants. According to Chhabra, the grand finale will be held in front of the Indian Judiciary on 16 March 2013. Each and every member of the wining team will be awarded with fully paid scholarships for pursuing post-graduation at the Law Faculty of Oxford University.
“Higher Judiciary Appointments in India” and “Environment Laws in India” are some of the topics that will be discussed where the OUSI is planning to invite India’s who’s who along with well-known Oxford University alumni, revealed Chhabra.
Among the other ambitious projects of OUSI is an annual research paper competition which will be open to all under-graduates, graduate and post-graduate students from all disciplines. As part of this competition, the University will publish the winner’s research.
The competitions will be held seeking contemplation on a variety of existing issues ranging from poverty to prevention of fraud and sports law reforms in India, said the president of OUSI.
