On Sunday parents of students of Cosmopolitan Education Society School in Andheri (W) staged a demonstration, protesting against the management’s decision to increase the fee and start a CBSE section. They also objected that the teachers were not paid as per the sixed pay commission despite the student fee being raised by the school management.
"The school was taken over by a new management a few years ago and the old Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) was dissolved. The current PTA acts according to the management, our problems are not heard," complained a parent. Two days ago, a board bearing the school’s name mentioned that the CBSE affiliation was damaged in a similar protest. More complaints have come that the teachers hired for CBSE section are not qualified enough."We have been trying to talk to the management, but they refuse to meet us," said a parent.
