The admission guidelines that were issued by the Directorate of Education on 13 December 2012 have retained the year back’s guidelines , which in turn has disappointed the parents , who were expecting change in the points system.
The parents were expecting a measure on points allotted for categories such as alumni and siblings and more weight age would be given to the distance students.
Also the hearing on PIL, for which the the DoE was waiting has been now postponed to the middle of January 2013.
Parents admit that because there is no upper limit on the age of eligible candidates, there is a situation of chaos every year. There is a lop sided situation happening because, some schools give candidates points for being older than four and in the other hand some are denied admission into nursery for the same reason.
Despite the plea and the talks, the parents remain dissatisfied as, no amendments were seen to be made.
