Puducherry Marked a Considerable Rise with Pass Percentage Touching 89.61%

    The Tamil Nadu Class 12 Results 2014 were declared on 09 May 2014, and for everyone’s surprise, about 90.06 per cent of the students having appeared in the Tamil Nadu board HSC or Class 12 exams cleared the exams. Among the list of appeared candidates, the students in the Union territory of Puducherry has been acknowledged to have a marginal increase in the pass percentage in the 2014 plus two examinations as compared to last year performance.

    This year both the government and the private schools of Puducherry has been registered a good increase in the pass rate for the fourth consecutive year. Last year the percentage of passing students were 88.17%. This year the percentage grew up to 89.61% where from total of 13,477 students, 12,077 students cleared the examinations. This year even girls have a good pass rate of 87.59% and boys have 74.36% pass rate.

    First rank in the Union territory was secured by S N Mohammed Javeed of Primrose scoring 1,191 out of 1,200 marks. The second in the row is M Anandavel of Amalorpavam HSS carrying 1,187 marks and M I Hamith Nazira of Nirmala Ranee Girls HSS, Karaikal scoring 1,186 marks. As per reports, Karaikal fared marginally better than Puducherry region this year with 90.87%. The region is even ranked to have produced all the top 10 ranks among the list of government school students which is remarkable.
