Punjab Students Who Achieved Sports Prize to Be Awarded Additional Marks in Schools

    On the occasion of Children’s Day, 14 November 2013, the Punjab Government come to a decision of granting additional marks to those students of school who have been given award and prizes in sports at the state, national and international levels. 

    Announcing the decision of grace marks, education minister Sikander Singh Maluka informed the pupils who have attained any of the first three positions in sports competitions on various levels are eligible to be granted additional marks in exams. He further stated that this decision will be following the route of Maharashtra and Goa pattern. 

    Giving further insights, Maluka informed that sport prize holder student shall be getting additional 15 marks for their triumph in state level school games, while 25 marks would be added to those who won at national or international level.

    He also mentioned that games and sports would shortly be incorporated as a mandatory subject in all the government schools of state Punjab.
