Enhancing the visible security feature, the apex banking body of the nation, Reserve Bank of India has started new numbering pattern in the 100 denomination banknotes. The changed number pattern will be visible in the banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi Series- 2005.
The new notes will come with numerals in ascending size in number panels. This will help the public sort out a fake note from a genuine one.
Though changes have been made in the numbering pattern, however other design aspects of the notes will remain the same.
This new numbering pattern will be used in banknotes of other denominations as well in a phased manner.
