A first year post-graduate student of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) has been offered Rs 4.5 lakh monthly stipend in the latest summer internship drive. Highest percentage of offers was witnessed from consulting firms (i.e. 24% offers) and the highest stipend for the students was offered by BFSI (Banking, Financial services and Insurance) sector. It is this sector which offered a whopping stipend of Rs 4.5 lakh per month to one of the post graduate student of IIM-C.
Eminent brands such as PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Mondelez and Nestle hired 19 per cent of the batch in sales and marketing roles and in FMCG sector firms of the likes of HUL, P&G, ITC and L'Oreal have hired students in large numbers. Consulting firms such as Mckinsey and Co, Bain & Co, the Boston Consulting Group, A T Kearney and Accenture Strategy.
