The oldest of the all IIMs in India, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has become the third Indian B-school which is being offered an accreditation from the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Among the other B-schools, the accreditation has been received by TA Pai Management Institute and Indian School of Business (ISB) in India. An AAACSB accreditation is the highest possible achievement for any educational institution dealing with business degrees.
For this commendable success, the Director and faculty members of IIM Calcutta are to be felicitated and congratulated. Recognition of this level ensures the credibility of the institute and speaks for the qualities of the institute. The strength of the business schools are adjudged with these international level accreditation and such acclaim proves the capability of the institutes among the others present nationwide. The accreditation would take the institute to the international league of B-schools attracting more and more students from around the world to join the courses.
AACSB accreditation has been granted to less than five percent of the business schools worldwide. It is one of the most coveted and talked about accreditation which every business school seeks to achieve. There are total 716 business schools in 48 different countries which presently hold the AACSB accreditation. In order to maintain the accreditation the institutes need to go through a peer review process after every five years.
