Sashastra Seema Bal Notified Recruitment of 132 Head Constables

Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) invited applications for filling up 132 posts of Head Constable (Ministerial), Group-C Non-Gazetted (Combatised).

Selected candidates would be entitled for pension benefits as per the “New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme” applicable for the new entrants to the Central Government Services w.e.f. 01/01/2004. They will be governed under SSB Act and Rules applicable to other members of the Force and other Rules applicable from time to time.

Age limit (as on 15 November 2012): 25 yrs (age relaxed by 5 yrs for SC/ST candidates & by 3 yrs for OBC candidates.)

Application Fee : A non-refundable application fee of  Rs.50 (for Gen and OBC candidates) has to be paid in the form of DD or IPO.

[SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen and Female candidates are exempted from payment of fee.]

Educational Qualification:
a) SSC or Intermediate or equivalent examination from a Recognized board/University        or
Matriculation from a recognized board with three years Diploma in Secretarial Practice or Modern Office Practice or Commercial Practice from a recognized Board of Technical Education.

b) Typing speed: Minimum 30 words per minute in English Typing /25 words per minute in Hindi Typing on computer (for Gen & OBC candidates). Minimum 25 words per minutes in English Typing/20 words per minute in Hindi Typing on computer (for SC/ST candidates)

c) Should have basic knowledge in Computer application.

Medical Standard:

I) Eye Sight- Minimum distant vision: 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses.

II) Candidates should not have knock-knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision.

Selection Process: Selection process will consist of following stages:-

II) Physical Standard Test (PST)
III) Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
IV) Written Examination
 V) Typing Speed Test
VI) Test of Basic Knowledge in Computer Application
VII) Final Medical Examination
VIII) Review Medical Examination
[All stages would be qualifying in nature, i.e. those who qualify in previous stage would be promoted to next stage].  

Admit cards / call letter  will be apprised to the candidate by the recruitment board and the list of qualified candidates called for written examination, Typing Speed Test and final medical examination will be displayed on the notice board at the recruitment venue as well as uploaded in SSB Recruitment Website: www.ssbrectt.gov.in.
