    State Bank of India (SBI) is the only Fortune 500 Bank of India as per the website of SBI. The historical roots of SBI lie in the pre independence era.  It all started with the establishment of the Bank of Calcutta in Calcutta on 2 June 1806. After three years of establishment, the bank git its first charter and through it, the bank was renamed as Bank of Bengal on 2 Jan 1809. It was the first joint-stock bank of British India sponsored by the Government of Bengal. The Bank of Bombay (15 April 1840) and the Bank of Madras (1 July 1843) followed the Bank of Bengal. These three banks remained at the apex of modern banking in India till their amalgamation as the Imperial Bank of India on 27 January 1921.

    SBI Clerk (Junior Associates) Exam conducted by SBI to recruit candidates for Clerical Cadre in its various branches across India. SBI Clerk is one of the most sought after bank exams today and a huge number of candidates appear in the same every year. Clerk make the largest cadre strength and hence each year large number of vacancies are thrown open for the recruitment.     SBI Clerk 2018 Official Notification

    The SBI Clerk (Junior Associates) 2018 Notification had released by State Bank of India in the month of January 2018. The online registration for SBI Clerk 2018 exam has started from 20th January 2018. The Online Application window closed on 10th February 2018. SBI had issued notification for 9633 vacancies which include 8532 regular and 1101 backlog vacancies. The highest number of vacancies falls under the general category.

    Major Changes in SBI Clerk Exam 2018

    There will be no sectional cutoff this year. It will give an advantage to the candidates who failed to qualify in one or the other section. As per the official notification released by SBI "No minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects are prescribed". Thus, there will not be any sectional cut off for this year's SBI Clerk Exam 2018. However, the criteria solely lies within the hands of the organisation.
    This is a golden opportunity for the candidates appearing for the SBI Clerk Exam 2018 because it is not certain that this condition will continue in the next year notification also.

    SBI Clerk Exam 2018 Selection Procedure

    For the selection to the post of Clerical Cadre through SBI Clerk (Junior Associates) 2018 exam, candidates are selected through two phases of exams- SBI Clerk Prelims and SBI Clerk Mains exam. It is compulsory for all candidates to clear both the phases to secure the appointment letter from SBI.

    The eligibility criteria of SBI Clerk 2018 exam are mainly about two pre-requisites:

    • A candidate is required to be between 20-28 years to be eligible for SBI Clerk 2018 exam.
    • The candidate must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
    • A candidate is required to be: A citizen of India, A subject of Nepal, A subject of Bhutan, A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of settling permanently in India or a person of Indian origin who migrated to India from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam and have the intention of settling permanently in India.

    Pre-Requisites of SBI Clerk Online Application

    • Before Applying for SBI Clerk 2018, a candidate must have the following pre-requisites to avoid any last time glitched in the online application process
    • Candidates must have a photograph and signature ready before applying for SBI Clerk 2018 Online application form
    • The size of the photograph should be 4.5 cm * 3.5 cm
    • The Permissible file size of the photograph must be of minimum 20 KB and of maximum 50 KB and that of the signature must be of minimum 10 KB and of maximum 20 KB.
    • Candidates must NOT sign in CAPITAL LETTERS as it won’t be accepted by State Bank of India.
    • Candidates must keep all necessary documents ready at the time of online payment of the application fee
    • A valid email ID must be provided at the time of registration for SBI Clerk Exam 2018

    SBI Clerk Exam 2018 Online Application Process

    Step 1: Click on NEW REGISTRATION button provided at the top right corner of the home page of the Official SBI online application website  to start your registration process for SBI Clerk 2018 Exam.

    Step 2: Start your application process fro SBI Clerk 2018 by providing your basic details such as name, contact number, email id, address etc. and click on save and next button.

    Step 3:Upload your photograph and signature in the required format as provided by the State Bank of India. The permissible size of the photograph must be 4.5 cm * 3.5 cm and the photograph must be of passport size with white background. Both the photograph and the signature must be clear and legible. The Permissible file size of the photograph must be of minimum 20 KB and of maximum 50 KB and that of the signature must be of minimum 10 KB and of maximum 20 KB.

    Step 4: Fill in your academic details and professional qualification in this step of your online application process for SBI Clerk 2018 Exam. Click on save and next button after filling in the details.

    Step 5: Please carefuly preview your application form last time as you won’t be allowed to make any changes further in the application form. Click on save and next button after previewing your Application Form.

    Step 6: Pay your Application Fee through Online Payment Option, i.e. through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking for SBI Clerk 2018 Exam.

    Step 7: Click on Submit Button. Your application form will be submitted successfully. You will be sent an email with your registration ID and password by SBI for further login into the official website.
