SC Orders to Conduct Common Entrance Test for Medical Courses from Next Academic Year

 Medical Council of India (MCI) is all set to conduct a national level common medical entrance test, National Eligibility Entrance test (NEET) across the country. Supreme Court (SC) of India paved the way to conduct NEET for MCI, after retracting its 2013 ruling against NEET.

National Eligibility Entrance test (NEET) was introduced by MCI for admission to all medical courses conducted by various private, Government, and other Medical Institutions.

Verdict comes as a great relief to the medical aspirants across the country as it will benefit students monetarily, academically and will scatter the confusion and exhaustion generated due to multiple entrance exams and application/registration process for admission to medical courses in institutions.

MCI Introduced National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), after due approval by the Health Ministry for the emancipation and standardization of Admission process in the private, Minority, and Govt. Medical Education Institutes in 2013.

SC has previously ruled against the MCI citing constitutional clauses, which could be violated if MCI is to impose such sanctions on the Colleges established by Minorities Communities and Private institutions.
