The catch-22 that nursery admission process in Delhi has been facing since five months is likely to end on 07 May 2014. The Supreme Court on 05 May said that it will pass its final verdict on the nursery admission issues on 07 May. The children falling under the category of inter-state transfer whose parents approached the apex court will be allowed admission, as indicated by the SC.
A bench of Supreme Court said clearly that the court cannot pass an order in general and those 22 parents who filed petitions must get the relief.
Earlier on 11 April 2014, the SC had put a stay on nursery admissions in Delhi schools again after it withheld the Delhi HC's 03 April interim verdict that allowed the children who were selected in draw of lot for neighbourhood and other categories to be admitted.
On 28 April, the SC asked Delhi government to consider increasing the number of seats in schools to accommodate the inter-state transfer cases.
