Scholarships to 10,000 Capital Students will be Offered by AAP

    The AAP government is deciding to allocate funds worth Rs. 21 crore in education scholarships to be offered to Delhi Students in higher education sectors. These education funds are assumed to benefit around 10,000 students over the next five years.

    The fund is kept unutilized for years by the previous Sheila Dikshit government and now AAP is planning on utilizing it in a wiser way. Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia said that Congress had spent a lot of money in the education sector, however the approach was unplanned.
    Sisodia will soon officially declare about the scholarship scheme to about 10,000 students, in the higher education sector. This move will help poor students to a large extent.

    Sisodia mentioned that the former government gave scholarships to only 100-150 students, belonging to financially weak families.

    As per the government sources, the proper plan to disburse the money over five years is being created.
    Furthermore, the AAP has also vouch to set up 500 schools in Delhi and the education minister, and in tone of warning stated clear to the private schools that education is not a sector to rake in moolah.
    To help Parents and to listen to their grievances the government has also set up a helpline where one can register complaints pertaining to the nursery admission procedures.
    To know the scenario clearly the minister also conducted a surprise inspection on a Delhi-government run municipal school and was perplexed at the prevalent condition and the poor substandard mid-day meal served to the students.
