According to the Education World India School Rankings 2012, Sulochanadevi Singhania at Thane ranked sixth best day school in the national list of top-10 international schools.
The Dhirubhai Ambani ranks second in the international school category. Other city-based schools making to the list include Oberoi International School and Ecole Mondiale World School.
This came after a nationwide survey of 3,070 fees-paying parents, principals, teachers and educationists across 21 cities in the country has placed one day-school in Thane and three international schools in the city in the top-10 list in their respective categories.
The results were formulated after considering fourteen parameters, including academic reputation, quality of co-curricular and sports education, infrastructure, leadership/management, quality of alumni and faculty competence, disabled friendliness, teacher welfare and development, among other attributes.
Thane-based Sulochanadevi Singhania School shared the honours in the day-school category with Noida-based Step By Step. City-based international schools on state-wise top-10 list are Podar World College at Santa Cruz (no. 5), BD Somani at Cuffe Parade (8), Singapore International School (7) and Rustomji Cambridge at Dahisar (8), SVKM at Vile Parle (9) and NES at Mulund (10).
