The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) makes recruitment to all Group "B" posts in the various Ministries/ Departments of the Government of India and their Attached and Subordinate Offices. It conducts examinations and/ or interviews for various posts like Lower Division Clerks, Stenographers, Inspectors of Central Excise in different Collectorates, Divisional Accountants, Tax Assistant, Section Officer etc.

The commission ensures that successful candidates are posted, to the extent possible, to their home State/ Region. Here jagranjosh.com brings a few tips to guide you in the examination hall to avoid panic.

Carry all Important documents: Make sure you have packed all important documents like, the admit card, the original payment receipt, bio-data form, and photo identity proof in original as well as a photocopy a night before exam to avoid unnecessary panic.

Reach on Time: Ensure that you are aware of date, time, and venue for the examination so that you can comprehend the time required- make allowances for traffic jams- to reach the venue of examination. This will save you from unnecessary panic and stress.

Follow Instructions: Ask for help from the test administrators and the invigilators and follow the instructions given by them at all the stages of the examination. Violating any instructions may lead to cancellation of your candidature.

Do not cheat: Carrying books, notes, calculator, mobile phones, etc inside the examination hall will lead to disqualification. Do not get involved in unfair practice in the examination like copying or receiving or giving assistance to your fellow exam-mate. Be honest in your approach.

Strategy for Writing an Answer: Stay calm and attempt those questions first of which you are very sure of as it will boost your confidence and will save your time. Try not losing your confidence in the middle of exam if you feel that you have attempted a section of paper badly as it will degrade your performance in the remaining questions.

Handle the Answer sheet with utmost care: Candidates are discouraged to fold, roll or wrinkle the answer sheet as otherwise it won't be read by machine especially in case of Preliminary Examinations. As soon as the exam is over, the answer sheet should be handed over to the invigilator before leaving the room. Do not leave your seat even if you have finished your paper well before time unless you are allowed to do so.
