Telangana SSC Physical Science Answer Key 2025

The answer key for the TS SSC Physical Science exam 2025 is available now. Students can use it to verify their answers and estimate their scores.

Section - I (Very Short Answer Questions)

1.Write any two uses of Nanotubes.

Answers: Uses of Nanotubes are as following:

(i)Carbon nanotubes are used in electronics to develop smaller and more efficient transistors.

(ii)They are also used in medicine for drug delivery systems due to their high surface area and strength.

2.What would happen if the magnetic field could not apply force on a current-carrying conductor? Guess and write.

Answers: Effect of no magnetic force on a current-carrying conductor:

(i)If a magnetic field could not apply force, devices like electric motors and generators would not work.

(ii)The movement of charged particles in a conductor would not be influenced by magnetic fields, making electromagnetic applications impossible.

3.List out the material required to prove that corrosion of iron occurs in the presence of water and air.

Answers: Materials required for proving corrosion of iron in water & air are:

  • Three test tubes
  • Three clean iron nails
  • Water
  • Oil
  • Anhydrous calcium chloride.

Section - II (Short Answer Questions)

4.Write any four uses of bleaching powder.

Answer: Four Uses of Bleaching Powder:

(i)It is used for bleaching cotton and linen in the textile industry.

(ii)It is used for bleaching wood pulp in paper factories.

(iii)It is used as a disinfectant to purify drinking water.

(iv)It is used for manufacturing of chloroform.

5.A bulb is marked as 60 W and 240 V. Find the resistance (R) of the bulb if current flows through it in normal condition.

Answer:

Given:

Power (P) = 60 W

Voltage (V) = 240 V

Formula: P=V2/R

Rearranging for Resistance (R):

The resistance of the bulb is 960 Ω.

Sub-questions from the table:

(i) Write all the sub-shell notations present in ‘N’ shell.
(ii) How many total orbitals are present in ‘L’ shell?
(iii) Write the maximum number of electrons that can occupy the ‘M’ shell.
(iv) Mention the maximum number of electrons that can occupy the sub-shell ‘f’.

Answer:

(i) Sub-shell notations in ‘N’ shell:

The ‘N’ shell (n = 4) contains s, p, d, and f sub-shells.

(ii) Total orbitals in ‘L’ shell:

The L shell (n = 2) has two sub-shells:

s (1 orbital)

p (3 orbitals)

So, total orbitals = 1 + 3 = 4

(iii) Maximum number of electrons in ‘M’ shell:

The M shell (n = 3) has:

s (2 electrons), p (6 electrons), d (10 electrons)

Total electrons = 2 + 6 + 10 = 18 electrons

(iv) Maximum number of electrons in sub-shell ‘f’:

The f sub-shell contains 7 orbitals, and each orbital can hold 2 electrons.

Total electrons = 7 × 2 = 14 electrons.

Section - III (Essay Type Questions)

7. Mention the depending factors of ionization energy. Explain any four (4) factors among them.

Answer: Ionization energy is the energy required to remove an electron from an atom. Factors affecting ionization energy are as follows::

(i) Atomic Radius:

  • As the atomic radius increases, the outer electrons are farther from the nucleus and experience less attraction, reducing ionization energy.

(ii) Nuclear Charge:

  • A higher nuclear charge (more protons) attracts electrons more strongly, increasing ionization energy.

(iii) Shielding Effect:

  • Inner electrons shield the outermost electron from the nucleus. More shielding reduces ionization energy.

(iv) Electron Configuration:

  • Atoms with stable electron configurations (full or half-filled orbitals) have higher ionization energy due to stability.
