UP govt has decided to cancel the examination conducted for selection to the posts of Reserve Civil Police and to conduct re-examination within the next 6 months. More than 48 lakh candidates were applied for this major recruitment drive launched across the state in which about 43 lakh appeared for the examination. UP Police Constable Exam 2024 Cancelled: In a major decision, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to cancel the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination-2023 on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Government has taken the decision amid the paper leak reports that surfaced for the written exam which was conducted on February 17 and 18, 2024 across the state.  More than 48 lakh candidates were applied for this major recruitment drive launched across the state in which about 43 lakh appeared for the examination.

Government has said that the re-examination will be conducted within the next six months. 

 Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on the social media platform X, "Orders have been given to cancel the examination conducted for selection to the posts of Reserve Civil Police and to conduct re-examination within the next 6 months. It has been further said that there can be no compromise with the sanctity of examinations. He has said that those who played with the hard work of the youth will not be spared under any circumstances. Strictest action is certain to be taken against such unruly elements."

Certainly the government move has provided a major relief to all the candidates who were demanding to conduct the re-examination after the allegation of a paper leak. Students appeared in the written exam for these posts have alleged for the paper leak and demanded to cancel the examination. 

According to reports, the Special Task Force(STF) will conduct a probe in the paper leak case. Government has also directed for registration of an FIR against all those whose laxity caused the leak. 

 

It is noted that the UP Police Constable exam was conducted on February 17 & 18, 2024 across the state at  2,385 examination centers. A total of  60,244 Constable vacancies are to be filled through the recruitment drive and nearly 43 lakh candidates participated in the exam.
