The UP Technical University (UPTU) has brought some changes to Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination 2014 (UPSEE 2014) going to be conducted for admissions to various technical colleges, after learning about the previous year’s impersonation held at a large-scale.
As per the changes effective from this year, the Candidates who shall be appearing for the entrance exam will be asked to write 2 to 3 sentences on the first page of question paper booklet, in their own handwriting. The examination pattern has the questions asked in objective type format and earlier authorities had no proof of whether the appeared candidate and the examinee both were same person.
In addition, the admit cards has also been revamped for a better security. One column will consist the signature and thumb impression of the candidate, which will be already printed there obtained from the scanning of their application forms, whereas, the second column will again be filled by the candidate’s signature and thumb impression made at the examination hall only in front of the invigilator during the exam. The same 2 columns will be assigned for the photograph section, now admit card will be seen having twin space for the same. The one column will have already printed scanned copy of photograph obtained from forms, while another column will have the photograph attested after approved by a gazetted officer or the head of the institution last attended by the candidate, to be pasted during the exam. A barcode will also be printed on the Admit card to make sure that no proxy candidate appears for the entrance exam.
