What is expected pattern for IBPS PO Pre Exam 2015?

    The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct the Common Written Examination (CWE) for recruitment of personnel for Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee posts in the Participating Organisations. The exam is scheduled in October for the year 2015. The examination that will be held in two tiers: Preliminary and Main. The IBPS introduced a preliminary exam this year aimed at eliminating non-serious candidates. Candidates who will qualify in preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear in Main examination and short listed candidate in main examination will subsequently be called for Interview.

    In the year 2014, the written examination was comprised of 200 objective type questions in English language, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, Computer Knowledge and General Awareness areas. A total marks in this test was 200.There was a cut off marks for every section.

    Here, we are providing the analysis of IBPS PO examination 2014 for the subjects of English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. It will help candidates to understand the pattern of upcoming IBPS PO preliminary examination.

    Quantitative Aptitude:

    The Quantitative Aptitude section was consists of 50 marks. The total number of questions asked in this section was 40. This section was relatively difficult as compared to other sections.  Date Interpretation was calculative and time consuming.

    Description of the topic wise Questions asked in the Paper

    • There were 2 to 4 question based on topic of number system, HCF and LCM and Number series.
    • There were 5 question based on Quadratic Equations.
    • There are almost 6 to 8 questions in the paper which deals topic of Percentage, Ratio and proportions, Time and work, Mixture and allegation, average and partnership.
    • There were 4 to 5 questions that deal with Profit and loss, Simple and compound interest.
    • There were 5to 6 questions related to Permutation and combination, Probability, Time and distance, Mensuration, which take more time to solve.
    • The highest number of questions was asked from the Data interpretation topic in this section which covers topic like pie charts, bar graphs, line graphs, mixed graphs and radar graph.

    English Language

     As asked in previous years Reading Comprehension was lengthy and need more time to solve. The passage asked in previous year was lengthy and need more time to solve. It was based on banking, business and economics. Each question in this section was contains 1 mark and the total number of questions in the paper is 40. The candidates need to be well versed with the basic grammar and comprehension part. Candidates who opt for the examinations this year must brush their tense, grammar and reading skills at the outset. The candidates who are emanated with exceptional vocabulary skills find it rather easy to gain score in this section.

    Like the quantitative aptitude paper, the reasoning section consisted of 40 questions carrying 50 marks. The section was moderate. It was noticed that in previous year that highest number of question was asked from Analytical Reasoning in this section.
