Question: I am doing BTech in textile trade. If I do MTech also in this trade, then how will it be for me? Please advice.
Ashish Rastogi, Kanpur
Answer: The textile industry in India is rapidly expanding in both domestic and international market. MTech could be useful if you want to enter in the career of teaching or research development. BTech is sufficient to fetch you a job in the private sector. With the big names entering the textile market, graduates with textile chemistry can find their careers blooming in dyeing and finishing, technical services, research and development, quality control, product development, polymer science and environmental control. After starting job, you can think about doing short-term course as per your requirement or MBA by distance learning.
