Since 2011, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has come with a standard recruitment process which consists of a Common Written Examination (CWE) and an Interview phase. IBPS provides the candidates with a Score Card, which a total of 19 Nationalised Banks follows. Other than IBPS CWE, many well established banks like State Bank of India (SBI), other Gramin Bank and Cooperative Banks conducts their own Written Examination for recruitment to concerned posts.
The Written Test, be it for any banks, are generally comprises of Objective questions from the sections listed below
- General Awareness
- Quantitative Aptitude (For PO)/ Numerical Ability ( For Clerks)
- Reasoning
- Computer/ Marketing Aptitude
- English Comprehension
For recruitment of Probationary Officers, the Written Test consist of one more paper i.e the Descriptive paper on English Composition (Essay, Précis, Letter Writing etc) of 25 marks & 60 minutes of duration. The Descriptive Papers of only those candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in each of the objective tests will be evaluated.
The above tests except the Test of English Language and Descriptive Paper on English Composition will be printed bilingually, ie English and Hindi.
