BJP-MGP combine emerged victorious in the Goa assembly elections 2012. The alliance, which pocketed 26 seats in a 40-member house is all set to form the government in the state for the third time. Results of elections weredeclared on 6 March 2012.
Congress which had bagged 16 seats in 2007 assembly elections is reduced to 9 in the 2012 elections.
Manohar Parrikar the leader of BJP legislature party would be the Chief Minister of the state. He would be administered the oath of office on 9 March 2012. Parrikar is set to acquire the position for the third time.
Election in Goa was held in one phase on 3 March 2012.
