Blackberry Smartphone maker Research-In-Motion (RIM) signed in Ranbir Kapoor as its Brand Ambassador

Blackberry Smartphone maker Research-In-Motion (RIM) in third week of December had signed in Ranbir Kapoor as its brand ambassador in India.

The signing of Ranbir Kapoor is a move to attract young entrepreneurs and professionals, as the celebrity endorsement is an accepted norm in India in terms of youth and consumer association with brand. It is also the first time Blackberry had signed a celebrity in India as its brand ambassador.

 Research-In-Motion (RIM) India follows global strategies but introduction of a celebrity for endorsing brand is being done to do meet local market requirements.

RIM India has roped in Ranbir Kapoor at a time when it is set to announce BlackBerry 10 version devices on 30 January 2013.

The company had signed the agreement for two years initially with Ranbir Kapoor and he is going to endorse BlackBerry devices in second half of January 2013 and also feature in multimedia advertisement campaigns in India.

RIM is embarking on a marketing blitzkrieg for its upcoming BlackBerry 10 operating system on which the company’s future rests. The BlackBerry maker will unveil the new platform and Smartphone running on it on 30 January 2013 and is expected to launch it in India in mid-February 2013.
