Corridor of Life to transport organs between Delhi and Gurgaon

Delhi Police and Gurgaon Police on 5 August 2014 transformed the distance between Indira Gandhi International Airport and Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurgaon into Corridor of Life.

The test run was done to provide uninterrupted passage to airlift human organs. The distance between these two locations is merely 15.5 km. During the dry run, it was heart, which was transported.

The transport time was now cut down to a mere 15.42 minutes. The test run took place around 11 am when the road is said to comprise of heavy traffic.

Green Corridor of Chennai

The idea of life corridor came to the forefront, after a Green Corridor in Chennai was created to save a person's life, who was suffering from severe heart disease. The news about the green corridor turned viral, when a medical team transported a donor's heart to a hospital via a specially created route in less than 14 minutes during rush hour as it would normally take 45 minutes for the journey.
