The Republic Day Parade 2022 will comprise 17 military bands, 16 marching contingents, and 25 tableaux of various states, departments, and the armed forces. Notably, all the poll-bound states- Punjab, Manipur, Goa, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh-will have their tableaux this year.

This year, a total of 29 children were honoured with the Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2022 and they were selected from all regions across India for their outstanding achievement in social service, sports, innovation, bravery, art and culture and scholastic.

National Girl Child Day is observed every year on January 24th. The day is observed to spread awareness regarding the inequalities faced by girl children in Indian society and also to promote the rights of the girl child and the importance of female education, health and nutrition.

The Indian women's football team has withdrawn from the ongoing AFC Women's Asian Cup 2022 after several players tested positive for COVID-19. Hosts India were considered to be withdrawn from the tournament after they were unable to field 13 players in their match against Chinese Taipei. All of India's matches stand cancelled and will be considered as null and void.

India's Smriti Mandhana won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year for her outstanding contribution with the bat at the top of the order in the previous calendar year.

Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year for his sizzling spells, sheer display of pace and swing and some magical moments during the previous calendar year.
