World Day of War Orphans is observed annually on January 6 to highlight the problems of children who lost their parents during a conflict making them the most vulnerable and disadvantaged group of society.

2. (a) Kazakhstan 

A Russian-led alliance has sent peacekeeping troops to Kazakhstan to manage the ongoing unrest and restore order in the country after a request from Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Over a dozen protesters and officers have been killed in the violent clashes between the protestors and the police and army in Kazakhstan. The protests had begun after a sharp rise in fuel prices on January 1, 2022. 

3. (a) Dragon fruit

China has shut down several supermarkets after coronavirus traces were found in the dragon fruit imported from Vietnam, as per reports.

4. (a) 9th

Indian Test captain Virat Kohli has slipped to the 9th spot in the ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings, while Rohit Sharma remains static at the 5th rank as of January 6, 2022. Australia's Marnus Labuschagne continues to hold the top rank after displacing England's Joe Root last month. 

5. (b) Jasprit Bumrah

R Ashwin has retained his second rank in the ICC Men's Test Bowling Rankings, right behind Australian skipper Pat Cummins. The second Indian in the top ten of the ICC Men's Test Bowling Rankings is Jasprit Bumrah, who is ranked at the 9th spot. Bumrah moved up three spots to break into the top ten in ICC Men's Test Bowling rankings after taking five wickets in India's first test win against South Africa.

6. (c) March 4th 

ICC Women's World Cup 2022 will begin on March 4, 2022 with the clash of New Zealand vs West Indies at Bay Oval Tauranga. India will begin its campaign at the ICC Women's World Cup 2022 against arch-rivals Pakistan on March 6th. The ICC Women's World Cup final will be played on April 3rd.
