August 7 was not a good day at the Paris Olympics 2024, India's star wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who reached the Olympic wrestling final for the first time, has been disqualified due to her overweight. Let us tell you that Phogat had made her place in the gold medal match by defeating Cuba's Yusnelis Guzman Lopez 5-0. After Vinesh's disqualification from the final, the gold medal match will be between Sarah Ann Hildebrandt and Yusneylis Guzman Lopez (Cuba).

2. (b) Muhammad Yunus

Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus has been appointed the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, the President's press secretary said in a statement late night. Let us tell you that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had resigned and left the country after the deadly protests. Meanwhile, Bangladesh's first woman Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has also been released from house arrest.

Nandini Sahakar Yojana launched by National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) is a women-centric scheme of financial assistance, project formulation, hand-holding and capacity development. It aims to assist women cooperatives under the ambit of NCDC to undertake business model based activities. Please note that there is no minimum or maximum limit of financial assistance to projects by women cooperatives.   

4. (a) RR Swain

The Home Ministry has recently appointed RR Swain as the full-time DGP of Jammu and Kashmir. Till now he was holding the additional charge of DGP Jammu and Kashmir. According to the order issued by Under Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Swann is appointed as DGP from the date of assuming charge till 30-09-2024 or until further orders.
