Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi will be the next Chief of the Indian Army. Upendra Dwivedi will take over as Army Chief from General Manoj C Pandey on June 30. An alumnus of Sainik School, Rewa, Lt Gen Dwivedi was commissioned into the 18 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles on December 18, 1984. Lt Gen Dwivedi has also served as Deputy Chief at Army Headquarters and commanded the 9th Corps in Himachal Pradesh.

Mohan Charan Majhi has taken oath as the 15th Chief Minister of Odisha. BJP has returned to power after 24 years by winning 78 seats in Odisha Assembly elections. He has been an MLA four times and belongs to the Scheduled Tribe. While Kanak Vardhan Singh Dev and Parvati Parida have taken oath as Deputy Chief Ministers.

A new tiger reserve will soon be established in Uttar Pradesh after evidence of tiger population was found in Suhelwa Wildlife Sanctuary (SWS). It is located in Shravasti, Balrampur and Gonda districts of Uttar Pradesh. This sanctuary was established in the year 1988.

The first FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup 2025 will be hosted in India. The Executive Board of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has recently taken this decision. This tournament will be held in December 2025, in which 24 teams will participate. President of Hockey India, Dr. Dilip Tirkey has expressed happiness over this.

Spain's star tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has won the French Open 2024 title. Alcaraz won the singles title at Roland Garros in Paris, defeating Alexander Zverev in the final. Alcaraz won his third consecutive Grand Slam final.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for his fourth term. Meanwhile, Jan Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan has taken oath as Deputy Chief Minister. Let us tell you that along with Naidu, 24 other leaders have taken oath as ministers.
