American pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson announced on October 12, 2020, that it has decided to pause the advance clinical trial, ENSEMBLE, of one of its vaccine. The step was taken after one of the volunteers of the trial was detected with an unexplained illness.

The Election Commission of India announced the dates for elections to 11 Rajya Sabha seats on October 13, 2020. The date of polls will be November 9th and the counting of votes will take place on the same day at 5 pm.
