In weightlifting, India's Dhanush Loganathan won the bronze medal in the men's 55kg event at the IWF Junior World Weightlifting Championships 2024 in Leon, Spain today. The Indian weightlifting contingent at the Under-21, Junior World Championships comprises three men and six women.

Dhruvi Patel, an Indian-origin student from the United States, has won the title of Miss India Worldwide 2024. It is the longest running Indian competition outside India. Speaking after her crowning in New Jersey, Dhruvi said, "Winning Miss India Worldwide is an incredible honour.

The Uttar Pradesh state government will soon set up state-of-the-art nurseries in 73 districts, excluding Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) and Ghaziabad. The aim of this initiative is not only to increase the production of fruits and vegetables but also to improve their quality.

The Commonwealth Games 2026 will be held in Glasgow, Scotland. Earlier, the Australian city of Victoria suddenly withdrew from hosting the 2026 Games in July 2023, blaming rising costs. Glasgow hosted the Commonwealth Games 10 years ago.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Unnat Gram Abhiyan worth Rs 79,156 crore. In this, the central share is Rs 56,333 crore and the state share is Rs 22,823 crore. The scheme will cover around 63,000 villages, benefiting more than 5 crore tribal people.

Former Maharashtra Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik recently took charge as the Chairman of Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Maharera). Saunik was appointed to the post in July and took over after the retirement of Ajoy Mehta.
