The Union Cabinet meeting which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 24 has approved the declaration of Kushinagar airport in Uttar Pradesh as an International airport.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) plans to establish a permanent military base in the Indian Ocean by March 2021. This was announced by IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri.
The state government of West Bengal has decided to extend the ongoing lockdown in the state till July 31, 2020. The announcement was made by WB Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after an all-party meeting convened on June 24, 2020 to discuss the COVID situation in the state.

Justice Rohini Commission set up to examine the issue of the Sub-categorization of Other Backward Classes has gotten its ninth extension for six months till January 31, 2021. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the extension of the term of the commission.
The US stated in its recent report that Pakistan continues to be a safe harbor for regionally focused terrorist groups. This was reported in the annual Country Report on Terrorism by the US State Department. The report stated that Pakistan continues to allow terror groups such as Lashkar e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) to operate from its territory and target India.
