NASA has announced that the International Space Station (ISS) will cease its functioning by 2031. The space agency plans to make the space station fall in the Pacific Ocean after its operation are brought to an end. The ISS has been in operations for over two decades.

Former CEO of SriLankan Airlines, Vipula Gunatilleka has been appointed as the chief financial officer (CFO) of the grounded Jet Airways. He was serving as the CEO of Sri Lankan airways till last month. He has now been tasked with reviving the grounded carrier.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announces the recognition of two separatist republics in eastern Ukraine - Donetsk and Lugansk - as independent through a televised address on February 21, 2022. The Russian President has also ordered the sending of Russian Armed Forces to the two breakaway regions.

Corbevax has become the second vaccine to receive emergency use approval in India for those aged below 18 years after Covaxin. The approval will speed up the ongoing vaccination drive for children aged between 15 and 18 years of age.

The United Kingdom will impose sanctions on five Russian banks and three "very high-net worth individuals" following the deployment of troops to two Moscow-backed regions of Ukraine. This was announced by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on February 22, 2022.

A CBI court in Ranchi has sentenced RJD leader and Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav to 5 years' imprisonment in the fifth fodder scam case. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 60 lakh on the political leader. The RJD chief was among the 99 people suspected initially in the fifth fodder scam case that involved withdrawal of 139.35 crore illegally in 1995-96 from the Doranda treasury.
