Justice Alok Aradhe has recently officially taken oath as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. Oath by Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan administered the award during a function held at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. Justice Aradhe is the 48th Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court and replaced Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay in the role.

3. (a) Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay

Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay recently took oath as the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court. The swearing-in ceremony took place at Raj Niwas, where the oath was administered by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena Singh and other senior officials participated in this program.

India is set to host the FIDE Chess World Cup 2025 from October 31 to November 27, 2025. This was announced by a senior official of the All India Chess Federation (AICF). However, the AICF has said that the hosting rights were informally confirmed in January or February 2024 itself.

As of January 23, 2025, D Gukesh has emerged as India's top chess player, surpassing his compatriot Arjun Erigaisi in the latest FIDE rankings. The 18-year-old chess genius Gukesh is now ranked fourth globally with a rating of 2784 points.
