Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir to contest from East Delhi: Lok Sabha Elections 2019
Gambhir would be replacing Maheish Girri, BJP's sitting Member of Parliament from the constituency.
Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir was fielded by the Bharatiya Janata Party as its candidate from the East Delhi constituency on April 22, 2019.
Gambhir would be replacing Maheish Girri, BJP's sitting Member of Parliament from the constituency. He would be pitted against former Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Arvinder Singh Lovely and Aam Aadmi Party's Atishi Marlena.
The ruling party has so far announced its candidates for six of the seven seats in the national capital.

New Delhi: The BJP has renominated Meenakshi Lekhi from New Delhi constituency. She would be campaigning against AAP's Brajesh Goel and former DPCC President Ajay Maken from Congress.
Chandni Chowk: The BJP has fielded sitting MP Harsh Vardhan from the seat against Congress's J P Agarwal and AAP's Pankaj Gupta.
North-East Delhi: The seat would witness a triangular contest between sitting BJP MP Majoj Tiwari, three-time Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit from Congress and AAP's Dilip Pandey.
West Delhi: The seat would yet again face a triangular fight between BJP's Pravesh Verma, Congress's Mahabal Mishra and AAP's Balbir Singh Jakhar.
South Delhi: In this seat, sitting BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri would be pitted against AAP's Raghav Chadha and boxer Vijender Singh from Congress.
North-West Delhi: In this seat, Congress's Rajesh Lilothia will be pitted against AAP's Gugan Singh and popular Punjabi folk and Sufi singer Hans Raj Hans from BJP.
The 2014 Lok Sabha Parliamentary Elections for Delhi's seven assembly constituencies was held in a single phase on April 10, 2014. The BJP then had won all the seven seats.
The candidate list of the parties for the 2019 elections is out just two days before nominations end for the Delhi election, which is scheduled to take place in the 6th phase of polls on May 12.
