At the latest golf rankings released on 1 march 2011 Germany's Martin Kaymeras took over the world No. 1 position from Lee Westwood. Kaymer moved to the number 1 position by reaching the final of the WGC Matchplay tournament at Arizona where he lost to England's Luke Donald.
Lee Westwood who moved past Tiger Woods on 31 October 2010 moved to the second position. England's Luke Donald moved to third spot while US Open champion Graeme McDowell moved to fourth. Tiger Woods is at the fifth position which is his lowest position since his breakthrough win at the 1997 Masters.
