Hurun India Rich List 2024: Mukesh Ambani Loses Top Spot; Find Out Who Surpassed Him

Hurun has released a list of richest Indians of the year 2024. According to the Hurun India Rich List for 2024, there are now exactly 334 billionaires—more than 300 billionaires in total. This number has increased six times since the list was first created 13 years ago.

Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani has topped the 2024 Hurun India Rich List with a wealth of ₹11.6 lakh crore. Adani overtook Reliance Industries' chairman Mukesh Ambani for the top spot. In 2024, Adani’s wealth increased by 95%, while Ambani’s wealth grew by 25% to ₹10.15 lakh crore.

• The Hurun India Rich List now includes 1,539 individuals, each with a net worth of over ₹1,000 crore. This is an increase of 220 people compared to last year.
• The total wealth of those on the list has risen by 46% in the past year, reaching ₹159 lakh crore.
• India’s billionaire count has seen significant growth, with the number of billionaires increasing sixfold over the past seven years to approximately 334.
• The total wealth of individuals on the list now exceeds the combined GDP of Saudi Arabia and Switzerland, and makes up more than half of India’s GDP.

Bollywood in Hurun India Rich List 2024

The actor Shah Rukh Khan debuted on the Hurun India Rich list with a value of Rs 7,300 crore, fueled by his ownership of Red Chillies Entertainment and Kolkata Knight Riders. 

Among the others from the film industry are Juhi Chawla and family (Rs 4,600 crore), Hrithik Roshan (Rs 2,000 crore), Karan Johar (Rs 1,400 crore), and Amitabh Bachchan (Rs 1,600 crore).
