Indian construction major, Punj Lloyd won a 1270 crore rupees expressway project in Yemen on 6 May 2014. The Ministry of Public Works and Highways of Yemen confirmed the construction of a 42 km, 2*3 lane dual carriageway projects between Doraigh and Noubat Dokaim. The project is funded by Saudi Development Fund.
The project will be located at distance of 60 km from the port city of Aden and comprises
• Construction of 210 lane-km the new carriageway greenfield project
• Additional road works
• Excavation of more than ten million cubic metres
It also involves two major concrete overpass bridges, box and pipe culvert construction, along with associated infrastructure work. This the Punj Lloyd’s first expressway project in the Middle East.
