In its response to a communication from the ministry, the IOC, in its letter to sports minister MS Gill clarified that the guidelines for the Olympic body. On 12 May 2010 the International Olympic Committee (IOC) reiterated its stand on fixing tenures and age limits for sports administrators by the government. The IOC mentioned that it would have to impose sanctions against India if the recently implemented regulation was not revoked.
