Maharashtra, Jharkhand Election Dates: After the ending of the election season in Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana, the Election Commission of India is scheduled to release the election schedule for Jharkhand and Maharashtra on Tuesday at 3:30 pm.
The Election Commission will also announce how many phases this year’s elections will have. In 2019, Maharashtra had voting in just one phase, while Jharkhand had five phases.

Jharkhand Election Date 2024 Announced
As per the announcement made by the Election Commission, the Jharkhand Assembly Elections will be conducted in two phases. The voting will take palce on November 13 and November 20. The results will be announced November 23.
Polling for 43 assembly seats will take place on November 13, while the remaining 38 assembly seats will undergo polling on November 20.
Maharashtra Election Date 2024 Out
Election Commission has also announced the dates for the election of Maharashtra assemble. As per the announcement the state will undergo polling in a single phase on November 20.
The counting of the votes will take place on November 23.

Assembly Sessions Ending Soon
The Jharkhand assembly will adjourn on January 5, 2025, and the Maharashtra assembly's current session expires on November 26.
The election Commission needs to announce the dates of the polls before the current session of both the states ends.
In light of the smooth execution of the most recent elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the commission might speed up the voting procedure in Jharkhand this time.
Maharashtra Assembly Election
The dates for the Assembly election in Maharashtra will be announced soon, most probably by today by the Election Commission of India. It is expected that the commission will try to complete the elections of Maharashtra by the end of November or the start of December.
The battle for the chair of the Chief Minister is basically between two fronts:
- Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition—comprising the UBT Sena, NCP (Sharad Pawar), and Congress
- Maha Yuti Alliance—includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and NCP (Ajit Pawar)
Jharkhand Assembly Election
The current state session is set to expire by January 5, 2025. The commission is expected to complete the state election procedure by December 2024.
As of September 20, the state had 2.59 crore registered voters, of whom 1.28 crore were women.
After the elections in these two states, the Delhi Assembly is also expected to go to polls in February 2025. The official dates are yet to be announced.
